Olivia's on air debut as KITV (ABC)'s kid weather forecaster!

My little kiddo makes me smile. She says the funniest things.

In December, she appeared on KITV Island News' morning show, Good Morning Hawaii, as the honorary "keikicaster" (child weathercaster) of the week. It's a franchise every Friday 5 - 7 a.m. where a local grade schooler is selected to shadow the actual professional to present the forecast.

The child actually appears on air a lot - from the start to the end of the show. The parents sit in the studio the entire time, kept awake probably only due to the chilly temperature - because you have to wake up in the 4 o'clock hour to get there on time.

It's really fun, and Olivia said many of her classmates and teachers commented to her that they'd just seen her on the news that morning! Now Olivia is considering being a newscaster like her mommy, though her first and second choices (as she said on TV) are still US President and veterinarian - at the same time.

Speaking of high goals, I have no idea where she got a car obsession from, but for months she's been saying she wants a Bugatti (a $2.4 million sports car). So when Maleko McDonnell asked her on air what she wanted for Christmas, she said a Bugatti. That's great: when she's US President/part time veterinarian, she can earn it for herself.

Thanks, Island News, for starting this great segment and letting Olivia do it. Here's the morning show closer (6:59 a.m.) from her special day: https://youtu.be/-8F5x3iZbCg
